I am all for them having the right to do this but I still think they look just as stupid as Open Carry demonstrators. However in this case I'm slightly concerned because they look like New Black Panther Party members who have threatened violence on white neighborhoods.

Also their protest isn't about peaceful carry of firearms but about violent resistance to both real and perceived discrimination by law enforcement.

Just look at their flag. Those are BPP members, Obama is proud of each one of them. I thought only OCT are said to be taking the law in their hands. This BPP militia is promoting and practicing just that, community policing with no-authority at all.

Looks like their "patrol" could have used a tactical advisor...
Doesn't look like any patrol I was ever involved in...

Ok I was doing good until I saw the gal in long skirt and high heels.

Clearly no one told her that marching in heels is a real pain.
Now we see the stupidity of the OC from a different perspective, no?

Open carry looks dumb regardless of skin color. The intent behind foolish groups like open carry tarrant county is to make people more comfortable with guns, which they fail at. This demonstration has a purpose of defiance and intimidation through the display of firearms, which they I think are succeeding at. My guess is if they keep it up gun sales in white neighborhoods is going to skyrocket.

My guess is this group will be welcomed by the community where as OCT not so much. Now why is that?Cedar Park Dad wrote:Ok I was doing good until I saw the gal in long skirt and high heels.

Doesn't just look like it......

How Fox missed this connection is beyond me!!!Huey Percy Newton (February 17, 1942 – August 22, 1989) was an African-American political and urban activist who, along with Bobby Seale, co-founded the Black Panther Party in 1966

Honestly, outside of south Dallas, I doubt they will be welcome anywhere. Racial tensions are so high right now. I think there will be issues if the police ask them to leave anywhere (if they blocked traffic, endangered anyone, asked to leave private property). Except that unlike the Open Carry People who get worked up but will leave when pushed we will instead see violent resistance. The cops will of course all be racists and anyone who is uncomfortable with them are also racists.suthdj wrote:My guess is this group will be welcomed by the community where as OCT not so much. One good thing is that the left can't criticize these open carriers because it would be racist.

What's their plans to keep their people from shooting each other night after night in these neighborhoods? How many dozens of thugs shoot each other every night? How many innocent kids/families get caught in the crossfire? But 1 cop kills a kid - even if it was justified and they go to burn & loot their own place?
I wonder how many of these fresh militants even a clue what they're standing for? Dressing the part of a 60's retro flick doesn't mean a thing.

That's your perception of their goals or they're actively advocating violence against law enforcement?knotquiteawake wrote:Also their protest isn't about peaceful carry of firearms but about violent resistance to both real and perceived discrimination by law enforcement.
Intimidation (intentional) via display of firearms is illegal, regardless of skin color. It doesn't matter if it's this OC group or another.
I just got back from two OC states - Oklahoma and Michigan - after 3 weeks of travel. Number of pistols I saw carried openly? Zero. Likely the passage of OC wouldn't mean much in Texas to most people.

They were marching to "protect" black people from white oppression. If they are carrying guns while doing this it is implied they would use them to do so.cb1000rider wrote:That's your perception of their goals or they're actively advocating violence against law enforcement?knotquiteawake wrote:Also their protest isn't about peaceful carry of firearms but about violent resistance to both real and perceived discrimination by law enforcement.

I also see fox news took down their inflammatory demands from the article as well.
