I have a possible student that is 68 yrs old. He dropped out of school in the 8th grade and he does not read well. His daughter emailed me and said he really wants his carry license but she is afraid he won't be able to read all the test question correctly. Do y'all think it would be a problem for me to read the test questions to him as long as he answers them on his paper?
As a parent with a child with a reading disability I understand this problem.
TIA

I conceal carry because I choose not to be a victim.

Re: Student with reading disabilities
You can give an oral exam. Not only does DPS allow this (per one of my renewal classes), it may come under the ADA, if this is a "disability" recognized by the Act. I don't know if it is or not.mommagamber wrote:I have a possible student that is 68 yrs old. He dropped out of school in the 8th grade and he does not read well. Thanks, I thought I remembered hearing that but wanted to double check.
