Absolutely Nothing to Do With Defensive Shooting

Post by SRVA »

But I promise a lot of shooting fun.

On July 4, at 9:00 am, Thunder Tactical Shooters will host our 4th annual fun shoot. There are two events and possibly three. One will be a steel plate rack where you will shoot it three times for score and the other will be our "mano a mano" event. This event pits two shooters against each other at the same time. All you have to do is break five hanging clay targets and knock down a steel popper quicker than your opponent. This is a double elimination with the winner going on to the next round. In the past, this has been our most popular event. Some very high level shooters have been knocked out of the competition quickly on this one.

If you can get away in the morning, come on out and shoot, laugh and have a lot of fun. First, second and third place will get a certificate and everyone will have a blast Cost is $15 per shooter plus range fee of $10.

Uhoh... I bet "Mr. Plate Rack" will be all over this one.

Ah...I just got news that our office is closed that day. I hope to make it out on the 4th! The event sounds like a blast.

How much ammo should one expect to bring?

Is shooting done from a low ready start or will drawing from a holster be required? For either competition?

Sorry if these seem to be stupid questions, but I've never done a competition like this.

LT, Come on down.

Barres, Bring as much ammunition as you can. Normally a couple of hundred rounds will get you through, but I have seen people go through 50 rounds on one pass of the "mano a mano." If you take your time and don't let the pressure get to you, you will be fine with 200.

If you have a holster, bring it and use it. If not, come on out and we'll find a way to accomodate you.

This is one of the few time that shooting is truely a spectator sport. Make sure everyone has eye and ear protection, even if they are only watching.
