Shooting The Glock 43, the Beretta Nano and the M&P Shield -

Post by SC-Texas »

[/size=2]Glock 43 v. Beretta Nano v. Smith and Wesson M&P Shield

I transferred a Red Jacket Integrally Suppressed 458 SOCOM to a friend today and we took it tot the range. In between letting the rifle cool of, we started shooting my Glock 43 and Beretta Nano. One of the guys who was at the range came over and we added his M&P shield into the mix.

My Thoughts: I am a Glock guy and I remain a Glock guy.

I have always complained about the mushy long trigger pull trigger on the Beretta Nano. That was made more apparent when shooting it next to the Glock 43 and the M&P Shield.

The Beretta sits very tall in your hand. Noticeably taller than the Glock and the Shield.

I still think the clock 43 is the better of the two guns in all respects. However, the Beretta Nano isn't bad. I just prefer the Glock.

Frankly, everyone who shot all three pistols preferred the Glock.

Thanks for posting. I haven't shot the nano or the shield but I have held and dry fired both in search of a single stack 9 prior to the release of the 43. I so disappointed in both that I purchased the 42 and carried it when I needed something smaller than my 26. The nano was just horrible all around. The shield didn't have a horrible trigger but it just didn't feel right in my hand.
I now have a 43 and couldn't be happier with it. I did find the trigger a little heavier but all my other glocks have 3.5lb triggers which I will also do to the 43. I also received a two round magazine extension for Father's Day that is real handy at the range.

never had the chance (or desire ) to try a Nano but I own a shield and a glock 42 (not the 43 but close ) and hands down i shoot the 9mm shield better than the .380 glock and it's one of the softest shooting subcompacts i've fired.
I much prefer the ergonomics of the shield and the trigger, all personal preference...i find i often don't shoot a glock as well as i do other firearms, but they're all good firearms.

one day i'll try the xds and the glock43 and compare it to the shield.

I had two G43's. I cant say anything bad about that model at all. I ended up selling them off because I have other small 9mm's including a Nano. I have had several M&P Shields and I think its a great gun at a good price but the trigger was something I never could warm up to on M&P's. So in an effort to thin out my collection of pocket 9mm's I sold those off.

The one gun I havent sold is the Nano. People seem to love them or hate them. I happen to love mine. Its extremely well built and very impressed with the quality. The Nano I wont sell because it works so well for me. Mine has a great trigger and I added a Lasermax to it. Gives it a rather sci-fi look but its just a fun, solid gun.

Having shot them all which one would I choose between the three? Probably would be between the Nano & G43.

Do you know where they bought the extensions? Have seen Taran Tactical and they are almost $40 for a plus 2 extension.

They are Taran Tactical. Bought both a 2 round and a one round ext for a total of $58. Expensive but they are not the cheap plastic ones you normally see for $20. All metal and very well built.

Thanks. I have been looking at them.
