Our turn in the room

Post by Hot Dawg »

New here & found this site looking for info to help educate my wife more as she is new to shooting. We both took & passed the class on June 28th, she was a little nervous on the shooting test but settled in after a few shots & scored a 236, proud of her. I have all my info sent in thru the website, she still has to do her fingerprints. The hard part was learning about this place & learning where to go to check status & will probably be checking it several times a day just to see if there is any change. The instructor we had told us about one case where a father & son took his class, the son had his card in a week but the father was still waiting over a month.

Welcome to the waiting room! As I've been on one of the seats close to the door here in the waiting room waiting for mine, I've been watching to see what the trend seems to be. Based on the last bunch of threads it seems to be for no issue applications about three weeks to approval/printing cards. I just found out today at day 19 that mine was printed. Good luck on yours (I'm edging towards the door as we speak). :tiphat:

I had my card in a couple weeks back in October, used a DD214 for a vet discount. Wife took the full 60 days. We both submitted on the same day.

Welcome to the Forum! My approach to this new responsibility of a CHL was they are allowed 60 days to process. So I approached it as I will have to wait 60 days for a responsible accurate check on my background paper work done properly and right.. I would hope they would do the same for everyone applying and not just stamp everything a go. Take that for what it's worth some may agree others may not. Wish you and your wife a speedy and accurate process! In the mean time get some range time in practice your carry method around the house and God bless. CARRY ON!

Thanks for all the welcomes, I don't mind the wait but will probably still check for updates about 10 times a day.

Finally got the wife's info sent off via website Tuesday & she wanted the website to check her status today, I told her to wait about 3 weeks before you start checking it.

Good luck with THAT! I know I started checking 4 days after they received all the paperwork. But back then, we had to mail everything to them...everything!

I took my class on 6/27, and had all my documentation and finger prints submitted on 07/01. So we're on the same boat now. :)

So last week I submitted my wife's documents thru the website, chose file then attached & submit, few minutes later I was thinking that when I did mine I don't remember attaching the file, after a few days I called to see if they were attached but was on hold for a while & just hung up thinking I will give it a few more day hoping that a letter would show up stating that they need my forms, trying to be patient & checking status online who knows how many times a day but still wanted to make a call. Today my wife sends me a text around lunch time asking if I have checked status yet, told her not yet & checked a few minutes later & still no status change. She called me when she got home & said my plastic was there, did not believe her so she sent me a picture, sure enough it was there. Time line docs sent 6/30 ,plastic in hand 7/20. I figured my wife has about a week & a half to go for hers. Website still has not updated.
