Playing the Waiting Game

Post by majorr »

I see that several who have submitted their information about the same time as me have received their plastic or at least had a status change. I did make the phone call yesterday and they tell me that mine is still in the "background check" phase. Super nice lady that I spoke with.
My timeline:
6/4/15 - Filled out Application Online
6/5/15 - Fingerprints
6/6/15 - Class Taken
6/7/15 - All documentation submitted online
6/8/15 - Confirmation email received

I didn't realize how much this "wait" is the same as the Christmas wait was when I was a kid.

Thanks for allowing me to be a member. I have nothing but time so I will do like some others and continue to carry around the house to become comfortable with my concealment.

Yup. Even though I could and had been carrying under a previous out of state permit, there does seem to be something about wanting to get that piece of Texas plastic in hand. :txflag:

I noticed some folks saying that they received plastic but never saw a status change on the website. With that said, I made a phone call this morning because I was told last week that mine was in the background process. I've had no status change on the website. This morning I was told that I was approved and I should give it about 7 days to be printed and mailed. I'm ready for the traditional walk.

Assuming I've been looking in the right place, https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/chl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , I still don't have a status change. However, MY PLASTIC HAS ARRIVED!!
My email confirmation was on June 8th and plastic in-hand on July 18th. That's 40 days.

I'm out of here. Good luck to all that are waiting and I've enjoy reading all of your stories. THANKS!

I thought I would post this for all of those still waiting. I received my plastic on 7/18. My status just changed 9 days AFTER the mail man delivered. I liked it better that way. It was a surprise when it came.
