CHL class

Post by Bk272 »

Can anyone tell me how long the class is good for before you do the online application? I took the class over a year ago, am I still good, or will I have to take the class again?

Normally good for 1 year.

Actually, your initial CHL-100 is good for 2 years. However, I think the online application is only good for 1.

Yes, Keith is correct. I apologize for not paying closer attention to the question.

2 years is correct. The question is when does the clock stop running for purposes of your application. There are two scenarios and both depend on when the application process is considered complete. Is it when you begin your application online or when all parts of your application are complete and in the hands of DPS.

Let's say you passed the class on August 1, 2013. The CHL-100 is good until August 1, 2015. Now, you start the online application process on July 15, 2015 but the fingerprints and supporting documents do not arrive until August 15, 2015 which is when, presumably, DPS considers the application complete. That is a big presumption and I don't know it as fact. If, however, the presumption is true will DPS consider the CHL-100 as valid because the application "process" was started on July 15,2015 (less than two years) or will they consider it expired and out of date because the application was not "complete" until August 15, 2015?

I have tried to get the answer to this but until now have been unsuccessful.
