Yesterday, I purchased a used Dillon 550B from someone who upgraded to the 650. So now I have crossed the line and will officially become a "gamer" in IDPA, loading my own 9mm rounds. Unfortunately, this means I now have tons of information to read and learn, and new forum sections to keep up with. Seems like a lot more work, but it'll be worth it.

Just wanted to say hello.

I also started loading a few weeks ago.....it is a lot of work, but so far I enjoy it. Good luck getting started!

Welcome to the world of reloading. Just remember that saying "I am going to start reloading so I can say money" is just a lie we reloaders tell our wives. The truth is we still spend the same amount of money shooting each month but we get to put a lot more bullets down range.

Aggie MM,

First thing to buy is a Carbide Lee Factory Crimp Die. About $21.00 It will replace the standard crimp die. This little guy is the 2nd best reloading invention ever made. (Next to the Dillon press) It brings the outside dimensions of a loaded cartridge to factory specs and crimps the bullet at the same time. This is a huge plus when loading brass that's been fired in factory Glock barrels. I have one for every caliber I load.

Second, there are more 9MM "pet" loads out there than the gov't has corn. I like 3.3-3.4 grs. Titegroup and 145-147gr. lead or plated bullet. You will need to load that Glock of yours to at least 140PF to get it to work 100%. Many have tried to get one to run at 125+ w/o success...including me.

If someone out there has accomplished this please post it.

I'm running that load in my Beretta PX4. I'm using the Lee auto disk powder measure but I found that the amounts stated on the disks vary according to the powder you're using. I think I'm using the 3.0gr disk for 3.3-3.4gr of titegroup. I picked up 147gr bullets at southwestern ammo supply for $4.50/100. Not a bad deal. What's getting harder to find is small pistol primers.
