Robbed the wrong man?

Post by ELB »

Video at the link, I don't know how to embed it here. I have no background info on the incident itself except what appears in the caption I used for the thread title. The tumblr account it is hosted on is by a guy who apparently works, or has worked, with the Mexican police in fighting the drug cartels in Mexico, and he runs knife-fighting and escape seminars as well. It would not surprise me if the video is from a Mexican bank or similar institution.

I like how the would-be victim distracts the robber by dropping all his stuff and camouflages his draw by walking behind the woman standing there.

Did he only fire once?

I watched it 3 times and that's all I saw, but I could be wrong.

I saw two shots, the first one, then the second one comes just as he's getting up and the woman turns around. :fire

I count at least three shots. The camera captures the fireball from the first one, then it captures the gun recoiling with the slide back two more times.

I wonder what the robber did on the front end- looked like he rubbed the guys ear or something... maybe just pulling him into the gun.

A good case for CC vs open! If carry was open, crime maybe deterred or or GG gets targeted... either way BG probably lives to rob/kill again. With CC the BG goes down, presumably for good.

It is really hard to tell for sure, but I think the would-be victim had earphone or earbuds, and the robber was pulling them off. I think one of the reasons the would-be victim bent over was to get untangled from the cords, and one of the things he dropped was a player of some sort.

I think this happened in Spain. The top of the video says "Los Jarales" which is a town in southeast Spain. I don't think they have CC in Spain so he's probably an off-duty cop.

Thanks!

I was also thinking he was probably an off-duty cop as well, not only because he was carrying but his actions once things kicked off.

Not Spain as it turns out, but Venezuela. And yes....shooter is a plain clothes cop.

That's just bad luck, isn't it?

A whole room full of potential victims, and he picks the one guy who will kill him.

But, this is the business he's chosen, as Hyman Roth says.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
