UT Handgun Policy

Post by Seabear »

One of my students from this weekend sent me this link. Look at number three of their policy. I was not aware they could do this. I thought they were to come up with a policy of where concealed carry was allowed and where it was not. I didn't think that policy could include an empty chamber.

I think there are multiple items that fall outside of the legislature's intent and will be challenged. Unfortunately, people, including the occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., have realized they can do pretty much what they want and it will take years to be undone through the court or legislative systems. By then, the issue will die or the damage will be irreparable.

Here is another thread you may want to check out. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=82744&hilit=ut+campus+carry

Very true. It is the dirty little secret modus operandi of the left and, obviously, that is what they are doing here. They know that it will take a great deal of time to work all of this out. In the mean time, law abiding citizens suffer and the legislature is ignored.

Not only that, but requiring residents of University-owned apartments (e.g. the UT Married Student Housing) to keep firearms in a safe in their apartments. So they can carry concealed in class, but in the privacy of their homes, they have to keep it in a safe? :banghead:

They can make whatever rules they want, but they can only enforce them on faculty and students, and they can't have you arrested for violating their rules.

I think the empty chamber rule is ridiculous but would advise all students/staff to follow it for now. Or just carry a revolver.

Professors have a strange type of mental retardation the name for it is a savant. A savant is
extremely intelligent in some areas and retarded in other areas like common sense and being practical.
This defect is often found in the State School for the retarded on a much more profound level.

Most of the anti-gun crowd are suffering from this form of mental defect :leaving
