Car Burglary Video

Post by WildBill »

You hear about car burglaries all the time in Houston, but rarely can you see one happen. An Eyewitness News viewer grabbed her cell phone and recorded one Friday afternoon.

"He seemed like a professional," Chino Smith said.

Smith says she noticed a man peering through the window of her car as she looked down from the second floor of her southwest Houston office building. With no valuables in sight, he moved to a Porsche parked nearby.

In the video, you can hear Smith and her co-workers shocked by what they were witnessing.

The burglar, who was driving a gold or tan four door car with paper license plates, parked for a quick getaway. The video shows him smashing both passenger side windows. He grabs what he can and takes off.

There are nearly 30,000 car burglaries in the city of Houston each year.

Instead of videoing, why didn't she get get on the line with 911 and give them a description of the guy, car and location? :banghead:

I was wondering the same thing.

With 30,000 car burglaries a year do you think they would send out officers on a 911 call?

Come on guys! Time the crime, and then call 911 and see how far you get by the time he is driving away.

Did you also notice the driver of the Porsche can figure out how to park!!!

The police are minutes away when seconds count.

The sad part is if that was a computer that he grabbed he will only get about $100 for the $1000's of damage he caused.

Another sad pert of this is the police are not interested in this type of crime they will say that is what you have insurance for, and then pencil one up to the statistics file
