What they do right!
i have to say I am a 40 year old man, a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division, a college graduate, father of five, and I have a beautiful wife. I must admit I feel like an adolescent anxiously awaiting a reward to come in the mail and irritated that it has not arrived yet. One could, and probably should, make a case that the 2nd Amendment is our carry license, but that is for another day. This purpose of this thread is to post the good things we see our heroes and our finest do. Seems as though DPS gets beat up on this site a little by impatient citizens, but they do so much more than just issue licenses. In the news our heroes are taking a beating in the media, on college campuses, and in public opinion. Have to say, although I am a veteran, Airborne Infantry, I would not want to be a cop today. I am proud of those who are. So if you see anything positive our heroes and our finest do, feel free to post it here!

Re: What they do right!
I saw a cop today changing a tire for a citizen on 146 southbound, in the La Porte area. Traffic was heavy and he was in the left hand shoulder doing this task. The lady driving the car could have pulled over more to the left, when she parked on the shoulder. I must admit my thoughts before this was "Man what is wring with DPS why can't they get organized." Then I saw this cop, kind of risking himself to change a tire for someone he probably didn't even know. Then I thought, "Man I must still be a child." I have to say that I am proud of our cops here in Texas, proud of our firefighters, proud of our paramedics, and I am proud of DPS and what they are doing.
