What's A Reasonable Cost For .22 Ammo?

For a box of 50 or a brick of 500, what's a reasonable cost for good quality .22 ammo?

Under 10 cents a round, the closer to 5 cents the better.

I always get the remington box of 525 bullets. Shows out of stock at Academy, but its $28.99. Pretty sure I saw them at my local store earlier this week. That puts it at about 5.5¢ a round.

Yeah it's sad when you can't even take your kids out to plink at tin cans, without counting the shots and mentally doing the math as to the cost.

I keep hoping the price will come down, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.

Right now, anything under 10 cents per round is pretty good

I bought 5000 rounds at about 8-cents a round a while ago. Thought it was a decent price and it means I don't have to keep my eye out for "good deals" or stalk the shelves at Academy/walmart.

The best I've been able to do in the past couple of weeks is $.08/round. $.10 and higher is more common. I've seen some online gougers selling them for $.20+/round. I was able to purchase some boxes of 300 round CCI MiniMags at Academy for $24.99. Same box online goes for $69 in many places.

not even 4yrs ago those boxes werent much more than that, i got a nice stockpile from cabelas sales at about 10bucks a box if i recall

i dont even shoot 22lr much anymore because i dont want to use my stash up

Academy has these in my location for $34.99. I go with Federal 525 for $29.99 elsewhere.

I have oodles of .22 ammo and will part with some Blazer, etc. for 5¢ per round if anyone is in the area. Heck, I'll even part with a scoped CZ 452 or two if anyone is interested.

My recreational shooting interests have drifted over to pellet guns. Weirauch and Beeman German rifles in .177 caliber to be more specific. I can shoot, at my convenience, off our covered patio in our fenced backyard out to 30 yards without any logistic considerations.
