NM: hit & run driver suspect held by armed citizen

Post by JustSomeOldGuy »

driver hits bicyclist and then leaves the scene, dragging the bike under his suv. As a cyclist, I hate when that happens and am glad the driver is going to jail....(at least until he makes bail).

I have no tolerance for a person who knowingly is a hit and run driver. However, I also have no tolerance for cyclist ( motor or bike) who whine about sharing the road and then follow no rules of the road and act as they are exempt from laws or common sense. I live in a very popular area for both weekend motor cyclist and bicyclist. They act (for the most part) as if they own the road. They don't realize that they are going to loose to a 8,000 lb truck.

Just my 2 cents: i have done the ms150 and we still get hit my cars and we have escorts! I dont get mad when cyclists take a lane when there is no sholder. What are they supposed to do? Now, going in and out of lanes is a completely different story!

We have no shoulders and a 50 MPH speed limit. It can be frustrating at times. What can they do? They can go 2 miles East and ride on the shoulder of a very nice access road. I get tired of them running stop signs and riding two three four abreast. I always provide plenty of space from a rider or riders. I get tips of the hat from some and am fliped off by others.

I hate when bicyclists disobey traffic laws and switch from riding with traffic to the sidewalk whenever convenient.
