A pipe bomb in a plastic trash can on the route of a Marine charity fun run exploded. Only one of the three pipe bombs exploded. It was set with a timer to go off just as the runners past. However, the race was delayed 30 minutes when a back pack was discovered with no owner, so the bomb went off with no one there.

The FBI has now taken over the investigation, so that terrorism will not be found as a motive.
