Whats the actual story? Maybe it was some crazed wife or girlfriend?
Or some jealous old guy next door.

That's a 2015, not 2005!

Regardless of who did it that sucks! I would think if you can afford to own it you can afford to fix it tho unless it's not deplorable enough

Homeowner: I need my porch painted.
Day Laborer: Si
Day Laborer comes back in an hour: "Sir, I painted it, but I must tell you that is a Corvette not a Porsche."
Ba dum da.....
I have never understood destroying property as a from of protest.

Not necessarily. Corvettes are sort of the bargain of supercars, even the Z06. The one in the OP's link is valued at $86K for a 1 year old machine, absent the vandalism. A 1 year old Ferrari with similar performance would be worth a lot more than that. A 2017 Z07 lists for $86,900. Yeah, that's a lot of money, but a similarly equipped italian supercar costs twice that brand new.cmgee67 wrote:Regardless of who did it that sucks! Also, it could have been a leased vehicle. And one other thing.......maybe the owner's insurance company totaled it. Who knows? But the other possibility is that maybe the owner bought a car he couldn't really afford. People do that all the time. Being a veteran doesn't automatically confer financial wisdom on the owner.
There's no real way to tell why the owner didn't fix it himself instead of selling it. (Maybe his wife/ex-wife did it to him for reasons completely unrelated to his veteran status?)

That is a possibility, divorce settlement anger, financially unable to pay, so a one fingered salute to the bank, or protest vandalism. I doubt, that paint would cause the insurance company to total it, unless there is other unknown damage. JMHO

Didn't mean anything by it that was not a serious comment. It was a joking comment so I'm gonna leave it at that

To be honest, you're looking at what? 15-20 grand for new paint, windshield and re-upholstery? Seems like a pretty good deal to me to pay for 45,000 for an 86,000 car.
ETA wonder what kind of paint that is? Might not even need the paint job, depending on the type of white paint used. If I had cash I might throw some money at it.

My thinking is, if they did it because of the stickers, why is the areas with the stickers the only areas without paint?
