Multivictim shooting in Gaines County (Seminole Tx)

Post by G.A. Heath »

Had a shooting in my county. I am closely associated with the town (Seminole Texas) where the first shooting occurred at a business called Perika's Terrace. The second shooting happened at a residence located a few miles north of town on US 385/62. I drove by both crime scenes this morning on my way to work. Law enforcement was still at the second scene before seven o'clock. I do not know if the suspect was in a standoff at that scene or if they were still processing the scene at that time. Later, around eight o'clock, it was reported the suspect was in custody. I felt a little 'under dressed' after learning I drove by two crime scenes with just a pocket nine.

Just a little bit of an update. Facts that are now known by the public are the first scene, which was in the parking lot for Perika's Terrace, is associated with a 51% business. At that scene two male victims were found with gunshot wounds. The second scene was three blocks north and two female victims were shot. One victim walked from that scene with a gunshot wound to the hand to the Sheriff's office. Law enforcement went to the second scene and found the second victim had a gunshot wound to the head. The scene north of town that I initially noticed was where they reportedly located their suspect and took him into custody. The shooter is currently charged with a single count of aggravated assault with other charges pending.

Rumor is that the female victims at the second scene were both in a vehicle when shot. Another rumor is that at least one victim has died. The restaurant/bar (Private club) where the first crime scene was located in the parking lot was open for business even though the owner was reportedly one of the male victims.

I did not know this, horrible thing to happen in this town. Also, one of the victims from the first scene has died.

Yep grew up here and stayed here.
I also know the shooter personally, never thought he was capable of this.
May god comfort the families, and have mercy on his soul.
Also I believe 2 victims have died and the other 2 are expected to live.

CDH07: I want to welcome you to the forum as well. While I may not know who you are in real life I would be highly surprised if we haven't met.

A second victim has died. That victim is one of the female victims from the second scene. I am getting conflicting reports in the media and the PD website. KCBD11 (Lubock TV channel) is saying the second shooting victim was found in a residence the 300 block of North US 62/385. But I have heard reports from other channels that say the 300 block of north main. If we are talking about the 300 block of north 385 that would place it at a residence just north of the Gaines County Cemetery north of Seminole. If it is the 300 block of north main then the reports that the victim was found in a vehicle would make sense as there are now residences on that block. I suspect the confusion is because main street in Seminole is US385 but depending on what name is used the addresses are different.
