Pawn shop Wingmaster
Pawn shop Wingmaster
Old Remington 870 Wingmaster, with vent rib barrel. Don’t know the exact length but it’s long. Anyway price is $150 so would that be something you’d go for? They also have a 870 in 16ga for about the same price.
Re: Pawn shop Wingmaster
$150 for a Wingmaster?? Any idea on the year? Anyways, assuming it’s not been bubba’d, I would jump on that deal in a heartbeat.
Re: Pawn shop Wingmaster
For $150, I'd jump on it (assuming it's safe and mechanically sound)

Re: Pawn shop Wingmaster
I've got a wingmaster from 1954 with the original barrel and everything. The barrel has some pitting on the outside from years of improper storage in humid environments (before I was born), but it could still sell for $300-500. I would JUMP at $150.

Re: Pawn shop Wingmaster
If really an old one the wood on the pump/slide will be round with grooves.
If old and original VR barrel look under the raised elevated part of the rib about 4-5" from chamber for a 2 digit date. Only on original VR barrels.
Any checkering on wooden butt stock?
Plastic black butt plate?
That would be the barrel date only but if original same as receiver probably.
If has screw in chokes not old and original. Shell lifter should be chrome also.
Choke and barrel length?
3" should have pad.

Re: Pawn shop Wingmaster
I bought an old, abused 870 Wingmaster with pitted barrel from a police auction. It was so beat up I couldn’t sell it so I decided to Duracoat the entire shotgun, Wood stocks and all. Surprisingly it shot better than the Benelli Nova and Browning BPS I bought and l ended up keeping it. After the black Duracoat it actually looks good.

At $150 I'd be taking both home and smiling all the way.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

If it is a Wingmaster and not an Express for $150, that is a must buy.
Re: Pawn shop Wingmaster
Where is the pawn shop? I’d love to check it out if it is close by and let you know if I’d pay $150.

Re: Pawn shop Wingmaster
It is indeed a Wingmaster, in really decent condition. 30" vent rib barrel, all steel and wood. Ahhh, so nice.cyphertext wrote:If it is a Wingmaster and not an Express for $150, that is a must buy.

I won't tell you where it is, but I will give you a clue.parabelum wrote:Where is the pawn shop? I’d love to check it out if it is close by and let you know if I’d pay $150.
I like pawn shops managed by women who don't know and don't give a rat's behind about guns.
I just took this home from the same shop. A Ruger Mk II Government Target for $249.

They were also selling an old bi-tone W German Sig P226, complete with proof marks, in nickel/alum for $375.
Re: Pawn shop Wingmaster
The 30" barrel tells much as they have not been offered as a stock item in awhile I am guessing a full choke, be sure and check choke for constriction as some opened them, 5 second job there. That barrel just might be dated under the rib also should have chrome lifter. I have one just like it I got new.

I just stopped by the pawn shop to look at it again I didn't have much time, but I believe constricted, chrome lifter, and there is a two letter stamp on barrel "OK" I believe. I did take a tape measure to the barrel and it is 30"
The 16 ga is also a Wingmaster and its barrel is 28", no vent rib. They want $200 for this one. Is the 16ga a pretty rare model?
