Conditions at Elm Fork? (8/22)

Post by Xander »

Anybody know? According to the DAPS website, the IDPA match tonight is still on as of 9:45 in the A.M....Is this just wishful thinking?

I drove by there on Sunday and it is still flooded. The water isn't completely covering the area where we shoot, but you'd have to swim to get there.

Message says they are still closed due to high water. It also indicates she has no idea when the Corps of Engineers will close the gates at Lewisville. :(

That's too bad. I wasn't holding my breath, since the website still had the match director listed as TBD, but since they haven't come out and said it's canceled, I had some hope. Oh well.

Here is a shot that I was able to get from North West HWY. This is the area where we shoot IDPA at.

Things are looking up. I swear I drove by there yesterday and it looked as the pictures do. However I just drove by there not 10mins ago and all the water is practically gone. I dont know if they have closed the floods gates for good though. Might be too early to celebrate. There still some water down in the main entrance but the side trail to get to the pistols range is no longer under water. :hurry:
