do they even know what they are doing
Did the online application, got the letter with the pin number. Did the class, sent in all the paperwork. Two weeks gone by and online status says packet sent. Sent email to ask if they in fact have my paperwork, get a reply "Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going though the processes required before entry. When a completed application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your PIN number". Send a reply stating how I did the online, got packet and pin number and sent all papers in and get this reply "IT TAKES 2-4 WEEKS TO GET ENTERED INTO THE SYSTEM ONCE ENTERED THE PIN NUMBER WILL BE MAILED TO YOU". It's like they didnt even read my email.
The paper work is likely setting in an in box some place.
The online systems really does not provide much in the way of status, just simple things like.
Processing.
Waiting on documentation.
From my experience, if you’re expecting a detailed step by step status, don’t bother. The set up is like the Post office online tracking, billing received, packaged delivered, and that's about it, ditto as I saw for CHL.

Well, do you really expect them to say "we're sitting on our thumbs, and will enter the paperwork when we get bored enough?"striker55 wrote:"Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going though the processes required before entry."

It takes between 10-15 days weeks after receipt for DPS to acknowledge that your application is being processed, at least this was my experience. When I contacted DPS in July about my application, they indicated that the packets are "pre-screened" prior to being entered into the system for formal processing (this is when your online status will change to "processing application").
It's during the pre-screening process that they usually try to catch missed signatures/paperwork/photos. In any event, DPS seems to be movin' pretty fast right now, my app was completed in just over a month. It seems as though they generally finish processing CHL's about 2-3 weeks after your status flips to "processing application" assuming that no issues arise.

Trust me man, you are not the only one who ever said "Huhhhh???" when you received an email reply from the CHL office. I received some wild replies to a couple of emails that I sent up there. I got one to the tune of it takes 7-10 working days for the mail to make it from the mail room to the CHL office but somehow it only takes 3-5 days for a personal check to be cashed out of your packet. Strange, Strange, Strange stuff.
How we conduct ourselves defines us. At the end of the day we answer to ourselves. At the end of our days we answer to God.
I sent an inquiry about a PIN, and received an answer that same morning, unfortunately it addressed another topic (how to request a PIN), but a minute later, I got a very pleasant email from a clerk apologizing for sending the wrong email answer, and letting me know the answer to my question.
