We saw this very thing when we lived in central Florida some 30 years ago. Yankees, escaping their weather and neighbors, would move to Florida and the first thing out of their mouth was, '....that's not the way we do/did it back home'.

We have one foot over the cliff. Remember Hillary got 44% of the Texas vote in 2016. The rural regions saved the state.
