UPDATED again today... And "Houston we have lift off"... Plastic arrived today!

Online Application: 11/26/12
CHL CLass/Fingerprints: 11/30/12
Submitted Documents: 12/03/12
Received by DPS: 12/05/12 (sent return receipt required)
Background Review: 12/31/12 (Under Review)
Manufacturing Pending: 01/13/13
Manufacturing: 01/15/13
Mailed: 01/16/13 (Post date on envelope was 01/17)
Received: 01/19/13

26 days to get a status change from "waiting to receive documents" to "under review".
14 days in background review.
2 days pending manufacturing
1 day in mfg
3 days "mail"
___
46 days mailbox to mailbox

*****An observation for all that are still watching for updates after mailing docs or while background check is under review: based on my experience it looks like they update those first two categories in batch mode once weekly on the weekend. And then once background check is finished they update nightly real time and things progress prett quickly from there. *****
Have faith and good luck!

Just checked - after reading that many have gotten updates on Saturday.

Status changed to "Background Check - Pending"

1 step down... 2 more to go!

Been spending tons of times online and at the various gun shows in Houston, amazing how the prices and supply have changed since I took my class :*(

I don't have a problem finding the guns I want. I do have a problem paying the ridiculous prices being asked for them.

Good point... It's amazing going through old for sale and gun websites and seeing Rugers that were going for $289 now being "offered" at $500...did I miss a handgun ban while I was away for the holidays?
