Most states don't have these provisions. Signs in those places mean nothing. At worst, a store can ask you to leave if they desire to. Concealed means concealed.

No retailer is going to alienate a significant portion of their customer base by such foolishness.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Does the OP think it would be better were we to call it a "Walmart Waddle"? :biggrinjester:
I am getting older and that phrase seems somehow more apt in my case.
With all that said, Wally World is one place where I will not go unarmed.

There is absolutely nothing that I want or need from Wal-Mart (aka China Outlet) and similar Big Box Stores, and refuse to go there. 98% of our dollars are spent locally and via business wholesale purchases. Also, a lot of items are bought online from major trusted suppliers. Why spend time, money, gas going to a Big Box Store when you can "shop" in the convenience of your home or office online? I've even stopped buying groceries at our "local grocery store" and drive 30 miles once a month to a major supermarket where I can CC and save money to boot. Nothing like having food freezers, a pantry, and use Dollar Store for small frequent items. Also, buy clothes online. Even our local gas station has "real" gas unlike some of the "chain" C Stores that use gas impregnated with cooking oil (aka ethanol)... :patriot: :txflag:

The objection may be from Super K-Mart ot Target... Wally Walk implies that WalMart may be safer since law abiding armed citizens frequent it and Super-K/Target wants the Advertising ,...

I guess I could assure Walgreens, Target, Kroger, HEB, .. and the others that I'm armed there too; then they should feel better, even if they get less advertising by word of mouth from the over 500,000 licensees in Texas along with their families and the 250 people each one knows, and the half million or so armed customers in Florida and their acquaintances and families and ... Millions of Tenn, customers and ...

Maybe to show our support for this idea we should have a Wally walk-off where for a week/month nobody goes to Wally world for anything or on a select day we fill up our carts with our shopping list go to the cashier and then walk off or on a select day & time we all go there with shirts that say "Walk for Liberty". Any of these with enough support will get their attention even though the middle one might upset them.

If Target would start selling ammo I would shop there more often.

If "his employer" makes this an issue, I suggest we change the term to "Wally Walkout."

"Store Stroll"?

"Ward's Waddle"? (Oops, no more Ward's...)

"Retailer Ramble"?

"Foley's Foray"?

"Sears Sashay"?

"Hi-Lo Hike"?

"Piggly Wiggly Wiggle"?

"Autozone Amble"?

If the premise of this thread is true, even on this April Fool's Day, then perhaps they are reading about all the hundreds of dollars they will be losing.......I have bought a significant amount of ammunition there, after all........

Not that they have any on the shelf now..... :banghead:

Just trying to help. I'm just repeating some of the comments I heard on the con call this morning. They are not my opinions.
Interesting. Why would their feathers be so ruffled over law abiding people exercising their rights inconspicuously when they've got the "People of WalMart" doing far more damage to WalMart's image?
I'm with you, C-dub. I would think that "People of Wal-Mart" is FAR more damaging to the image of the company than the slang term "Wally Walk". I know quite a few folks who won't shop at Wal-Mart because of the "People of Wal-Mart" types they run into there...and I'm not making jokes, I'm serious. If Wal-Mart wants to be some sort of politically-correct corporation, well, all they are going to do is hurt their image even more. I know they are uber-rich and successful right now, but that doesn't mean they always will be.

I work for a major, and I do mean major, retailer. We have been contacted by different news agencies concerning the term 'Wally Walk' and our condoning this term. We had a meeting very early this morning regarding it and I can say that policies will probably change if this story goes to the national media. And by policies I mean 30.06 signs. If we do that other major retailers will be right behind.
So please stop using this term in general or as a 'right of passage' for getting a CHL.

I would be one of those people. Wal-Mart's a little cheaper than the other places I shop, but it's just not worth going there. The people are crazy, the service is awful, and I don't think I've ever left without wishing I hadn't gone. I used to deal with it, but these days I have three kids under 5 with me and the little bit of savings isn't worth the cost to my sanity. I'm a very happy H-E-B customer.

Tell your "Major Retailer" to stop telling me what I can or cannot say.
Let them change "Policies" and loose business. They will change back faster than you think, at least in Texas anyway.

So unless the OP has searched for anyone that has refered to the "wally walk" as a "rite of passage" The OP would be refering to my post in the "Waiting Room". Before that it was stated as a "rite of passage" in Sept of 2011. Next time just send me a personal message if you have a problem with me exercising my 1st ammendment while carrying my 2nd ammendment right. :patriot: GOD bless TEXAS!

The Wally walk is a rite of passage. Go to Walmart with your CCW and see if anyone notices/says anything. That's my understanding anyway.
