Ok, now I feel like Don Quixote tilting at windmills. After my less than satisfying call earlier this week I decided that an email could not hurt. What follows is the text of the emails. Names have been removed to protect the innocent.

Subject: application
Dear Sirs:
Next Friday is 60 days from receipt of a completed application in your office. Are there any problems or is there anything I can do on my end to assist you?
Thank you
We received your application on 07/03/2007 however it was incomplete. Your missing information was received on 08/27/2007 starting the processing of your completed application. At this time it is going through the normal processing. It can take 60 days to process

I have postal service delivery confirmation that the missing information was received on 7/28/07 @ 07:42 am, not 8/27/07. I also had a telephone conversation with an individual in the CHL office on 8/21/07 who told me the missing paperwork was there. I am trying but am unable to understand why there is a 30 day discrepancy between postal confirmation of receipt and the August 27 date you show.

I am not certain I just go by what is put in the system.

July 28 Delivery confirmation that fingerprint card was received at CHL office
August 8 sent email requesting pin
August 9 received pin via email

I have definitely entertained the thought. I am unsure of what possible good may come of it though. The last time I communicated by phone with the CHL office I was told my application process was "normal" and they were waiting on backround checks. I have no clue what that means as I have been lied to and misdirected both via email and over the phone by folks in that office. If someone truly knows for a definite surety that a squeaky wheel will get some grease I would be happy to hear it. Up until now I am feeling like this squeaky wheel is getting chunked. People who have turned in their completed applications after me seem to be moving out of the room. By their reckoning they have until Oct 29th.lawrnk wrote:If it were me, I would fax them a copy of your delivery confirmation and make sure they know they have the wrong date. Be nice, of course.

After long and studious thought I decided to go ahead and tilt at another windmill. I sent them the following this morning. If anything should come of it I will let you know.

This is interesting. Every email I have sent to the CHL office has been responded to in a very timely manner. More often than not within 2 hours. I sent the email this morning prior to 0830 hrs and have not received a reply.
