Perhaps it would affect some people that way, so it is worth considering, but I don't feel it has ever worked that way for me. I've named my guns (and cars) for decades, and have never felt they were anything but guns (or cars).Liko81 wrote: Good point. For me, it is usually shorter to say "Bear" than my Pontiac Grand Am, and the same for gun names. Plus, if I happen to be on the phone, any extra ears nearby will not be tweaked if I say "Barry" as if I say my Beretta. That could include people physically nearby or people eavesdropping on cell phones
