Don Hume Holsters

Post by Oldgringo »

:tiphat: I enjoy my Don Hume J.I.T. Slide Holster for my XD 9 SC and am considereing a Don Hume First Agent for my XD .45 Service  that I should receive next week.

Anybody have any thoughts/experience :headscratch with the Don Hume First Agent as opposed to the J.I.T as a comfortable and economical holster for a somewhat portly retired senior gentleman?

Thanks and :cheers2:

I love the JIT and have several. I have no experience with any other Hume holster.

I have a couple of 715's and they're great. For maximum comfort, however, I still recommend the Crossbreed Super-Tuck.
Springfield XD(m) 9mm 3.8 | Springfield XD-45 Compact | Springfield XD-9 Service
Kimber Pro CDP II .45 ACP | Kimber Pro Aegis II 9mm w/Crimson Trace | Walther PPS 9mm
Bushmaster AR-15 w/Magpul pistol grip and foregrip, Bushnell holosight

I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop.

My P.C.C.H. is working great with my Beretta. Good fit, easy conceal. :tiphat:

I own several Don Hume holsters the First Agent (H710) is one of my favorites. I own it in both left hand and right hand styles. Get one you won't go wrong!

I've bought a few Don Hume holsters and the belt holsters were almost usable.

But I'll never forget a shoulder holster that I bought from Don Hume. The first several times I tried to wear it, the brads holding it together would pop out and various sections would come apart. Before it was ever usable, I took it to a leather shop and had every fastener replaced.

I consider Don Hume to be the low end manufacturer of factory made holsters and can't hold a candle to any custom maker.

Just my opinion, of course.

I have a JIT for my P97, but I haven't worn it in at least a couple of years. It's comfortable, but I prefer more retention.

That's interesting. We had occassion to visit my BIL in Alabama last week who is a LEO. He said Don Humes and Ackers were the holsters of choice in his department. :headscratch
