I still have a bit a time in here myself, and I know my wife does (she got the dreaded "fingerprints don't meet minimum requirements" letter and had to have them redone... BTW, thanks for your help in getting that done last Saturday llwatson... VERY MUCH appreciated!!).
You are quite welcome. Glad we were able to help you, and it was good to meet you and your wife at the range!

When are we gonna have a D/FW Geek Shoot? As many IT people that a) live in the area and b) have guns! makes me think we should have one!

Possible ?

If we have said "Geek Shoot" then all of the targets must be of:

Towers (7 point circle)
Monitors (8 point circle)
Printers (9 point circle)
Switches (10 point circle)
Routers (Bull's eye)

Marshal - your profile doesn't mention anything. Are you a closet geek?

No, I'm totally out in the open!
Full time Programmer for a company in Uptown Dallas area.
Always have at least *1* person's PC at home to work on, and full-on tactical gamer in evenings when that has a remote possibility of happening.
Running computers in household: 4
#1 priority of new home location, should I go househunting again: Broadband access

Do I qualify now?

(Russ - Placing CD behind antenna....Brilliant! Full-on connection now in previously weak-signal room...)

That's a really inexpensive trick and I'm glad it worked for you!

Well, yeah, that's qualifies! Glad you decided to share with us. I'm still looking for that broadband connection myself, but not willing to move. I figure, EVENTUALLY, Ma Bell HAS to get DSL out to me.

Until then, I'm at the mercy of a local wireless company. It works.... sorta. As long as it isn't raining, or the wind isn't blowing, or there aren't any sunspots, or airplanes, or bad karma in the nearby atmosphere. Did I mention that I REALLY need DSL?

And, to keep this gun related, yeah, I would be delighted to get together and go shoot up some servers, routers, switches, printers, etc.

I think I qualify for the Geek Shoot. I'm one of the Dallas County Community College District Network Admins(not my official title, but might as well be).

Plus after next weekend I should have more than just a rifle to bring to the range as long as The Marshal doesn't forget to pick me up on the way to the gun show

Missed you at the range tonight Cyphur. It was just as well that there was one less witness to the sorry shooting I did.

I'll be along for the ride next Saturday. Have you narrowed your choices down?

Bill had called me but I was out in Grapevine. Its ok though, I was able to shoot earlier that day.

Yes, quite so. I'm looking for a Compact 1911 more than likely. I shot a Kimber Ultra Carry the other day and it just seemed like that thing belonged in my hand. I shot quite well with it as well.

And yea, I'll still along for the ride, as long as Bill remembers to pick me up!
