Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
Re: Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
My Supertuck is horse hide with Velcro clips, The horse hide is very comfortable in the Houston summers and the Velcro clips work good except that when you remove your pants ( ie restroom) you have to hold on to the holster .
I love the sound smell of jet fuel in the morning.

Re: Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
Ive been looking at this holster for awhile now. I do have a question for you guys that do have one. The holsters that Ive seen and have , tend to expose the top of the slide ( I carry a G27 ) and it rubs my under shirt. So I wipe it down with my silicon cloth so it doesnt rust. My line of work I tennd to sweat in the summer , so I want something that will cover the top of the slide from getting wet form sweat. Does this holster cover the top of the slide for dong this?
i am looking at getting the horsehide because I sweat also.

Supertuck does put leather between your torso and the gun unless you get the "combat cut" or whatever it's called in which a portion of the top part of the leather is removed to allow a quicker grip when drawing.garcia946 wrote:Ive been looking at this holster for awhile now. Question: Have you experienced an actual problem with rust from sweat on your Glock 27? Or are you just concerned about it?
Reason I ask is I've owned and carried a Glock 23 for more than 10 years (same gun), and for more than half that time the G23 was carried in a Galco IWB holster with nothing between upper slide and my body. I've sweated all over that gun. Now I wear it and my new-to-me G27 in a cowhide Crossbreed and last summer I sweated all over that same ol G23 THROUGH the cowhide leather.
In 10 years I've NEVER seen even a hint of rust on my Glock. Ever. The tenifer finish has that nice worn look to it now. I didn't even realize how worn until I compared it to my relatively new pre-owned G27, which still has that "new gun smell" and had remnants of the Glock gold past inside the slide until I put 150 rounds through it and cleaned it last week.

I've been wearing the super tuck around the house with a Glock 23 while waiting for my CHL. Seems comfortable enough.
When I wear both tucked in and untucked shirts you really can't tell I'm carrying.

Re: Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
I'm planning on buying this holster, too. Anyone have any experience with the SnapLok's?
I guess this is the standard, but I'm a little confused on the issue. This from their website:
"1) All SuperTucks now come with our new SteelClip clip.
Spring steel with a corrosion proof, chip proof coating
along with a proprietary design makes our SteelClips the best clip on the market.
Bulletproof construction and a decorative design that won't give you away,
only from CrossBreed."
The picture appears to be the SnapLok, I don't know if that is the same as the "SteelClip."
Don't mean to hijack the thread.
This will be for a Glock 22.
Thanks

Re: Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
Okay, I couldn't stand it. I ordered a new Crossbreed horsehide for my pistol du jour.
I'll find out about the clips when the holster comes in.

Re: Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
It's here!
I ordered my CrossBreed on 29th January at 6:00 pm. It arrived today! Monday 8th February. It feels really comfortable (I have a 5-11 gun belt so it is a strong belt). It feels much more comfortable than the old Galco IWB I have for the G30.
I am very impressed with Crossbreed both as a company and the product. They even sent a tube of Lifesavers in the package!
I went ahead and took the advice offered here and ordered the J clips at the same time as I ordered the holster ($5 if ordered at the same time
)
I would definately recommend this product and the company.

From what I've heard, Horsehide will hold up better to sweat over time.Bayllor wrote:Horsehide or cowhide?

Re: Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
How do you guys feel about the draw on the 'regular' (not combat cut) SuperTuck? I've found that the extra bit of horsehide really hinders my draw... considering a DIY combat cut with a blade over the weekend.
How about you guys?

Re: Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
I went with the regular cut and xacto knife approach! Actually I haven't cut anything yet I am waiting to see how it goes with the regular cut before I do anything. I believe that CrossBreed will do the cut for you 'after market' if you want.sss wrote:How do you guys feel about the draw on the 'regular' (not combat cut) SuperTuck? The way I see it is that it is easier to cut bits off than add them on again.

Re: Crossbreed SuperTuck advice needed
I still haven't ordered mine yet.
But following up on the sweat and horsehide issue...
Is there anything that should be done, to further protect it from sweat?
TIA
