Thanks 57Coastie!

The two ranges I frequent in Austin Area (Eagle Peak & Red's) allow their shooters to walk completely to firing bay with weapons stored completely in bags, sleeves, etc. If exposed, they must be cleared with slide or champers open and visible.

Safety is #1 to me as well and with that, I'd prefer my weapon on my person rather than in bag as miuch as possible. Naturally, we should have a high regard to safety and others - hence walking around city with loaded, concealed weapon around children, adults, etc. The difference here is that we do NOT unholster or handle in public unless absolutely necessary!

My unholstering and clearing operation at bay is a 1-3 second ordeal where weapon is always pointed in safe direction and either doesn't have my loaded self defense magazine in when leaving car, or at least doesn't have a round in chamber. I immediately remove mag (if any) and clear weapon - leaving slide open on entry to bay.

I'll await further responses - especially from Austin area - and may decide to go back to putting in sleeve/bag on entry to range.

Perhaps this would solve the problem...

So, if your cell phone prints, does your printer make phone calls? :smilelol5:

Sorry, just had to ask.

Is this for real?

If so, I would guess it would have to be kept concealed by a CHLer -- or would the gun be concealed inside the cell phone itself, assuming it is usable as a cell phone.

As if we didn't already have enough problems....

Jim

EDIT Snopes says it is for real. Wowie!

Yeah, unless the range porta-potty it is floating from all the rain, it is a latrine.
