Just call the help line number. They are very helpful.
They will answer any question you have but you might have to hold a few minutes.
It is my understanding they will have a class when enough people have registered.
You now need only one set of prints.
Fast or L1 does not do photos for the license, only for verification that you are who
you say you are for the prints. My understanding.
Photos do not have to be signed.
Now if you do online application notary is not required. It is considered to be notarized online.
Again, I could be wrong so make the call, and you have an answer straight from the people making the decision.
Good luck. :tiphat:

I will give DPS a call on Tuesday and ask them about it. The checklist from the online application only listed the three things that I needed. Right now 2 of the 3 are done as I have a TCN number for the prints from L-1 and the online application is done and paid for.

you can download the CHL-90 form from their website. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you don't need photos, only online checklist/receipt, fingerprints and chl-90 form. The next available instructor class in Austin for you would be Summer 2011. All classes are already full until then. You have to come to Austin and take a week long class, it will most likely be sometime in June or July 2011. Hope this helps..

I received an email today from DPS stating the next class is in April 2011 and asking me my preferred dates to attend the class. I had a choice of 2 different weeks in April either mid month or end of the month for my CHL Instructor Certification. It appears the State is starting up the quarterly training for instructor applicants.

Me too. I took the first class in April. But hey!! It's in Georgetown!! I'm staying with friends in south Austin and since I'm too cheap to spring for a hotel, I guess I'm driving.

Being from Houston, it will simply feel like I'm driving to work except the traffic is worse in Austin.
