reliability
When I got my twin Springfield 1911-A1 pistols, they wouldn't feed anything realiably. I throated, ramped and polished the frame and barrel and now they will almost feed empty cases backward... lovely and not expensive.
I've had these twins for about 20 years and one has nearly 50,000 round through it without a single failure to feed since this work was done. The other pistol has had much less use, but, it also very good. Remember to change your recoil spring from time-to-time.
