Blaming a ND on a gun is the same as saying guns kill people.

If you don't know how to use the tool or are not willing to learn how to properly use it, don't buy it to begin with. The incident in question has little to do with a gun and a lot to do with pure stupidity.

I find it interesting that all of you quoted my post, except for the last line. I think we know who the 1911 lovers are here... (cough, cough)...keith ;-)

Well, in my defense, I quoted Keith. So your post was pre-censored... :evil2:

:iagree: Always check the chamber; never assume. I will never understand the mindset of someone who pulls the trigger and merely assumes it is unloaded but doesn't make sure. :banghead:

I was at a gun show a couple years ago where a guy picked up a 1911 off a table and pulled the trigger. The round went thru the table and embedded into the concrete floor. The gun turned out to be the EDC of the FFL's BIL who was helping him man the table. Came in thru the back door. Decided to see what he could get for his gun. Pulled out the mag, emptied it, and returned the mag. Never removed the round in the chamber.
Said all that to say you must always assume a gun is loaded even when they're not supposed to be.
