beefmobile,

I understand Colorado's generally a very liberal state. If that's so, I would guess there's a lot of anti-gun bias in the metropolitan areas, but I would also expect a lot of pro gun bias in the rural areas of Colorado.

Did you encounter a lot more gun buster type signs in Colorado as compared to Texas?

Thanks!

Well, our time was spent either in the downtown areas, or way in the mountains by ourselves. I didn't see very many gun buster signs at all, nor did i see one at an establishment i was going into (besides Red Rocks).

I did notice that most people in Denver had a Hollywood-type aspect on guns, such as 'guns are bad' or 'dont let the cops know you have that'.

AFIK the no-guns 'signs' in Colorado are not mentioned in the gun laws at all. They are not at all like the 30.06 signs we have. Posted or not, in CO, if you are asked to leave private property (business etc) you must do so or it is trespassing. The only legally prohibited places are the ones actually mentioned in the laws. Denver city itself does have some laws that are a bit different than other areas but I dont believe they apply to CHL, just open carry.

I've never seen anyone open carrying in CO except in national forest areas in all the times I've been there (and even lived there for several years).

After the state law was passed, the Denver law inforcement establishment was teed off and posted gunbuster signs at most of the city parks. The State ordered them to remove the signs, which they did. We were told by locals that open carrying in Denver could lead to an arrest based on what used to be called "disturbing the peace." None of the adjoining cities care if you carry, only Denver proper. I lived in 3 of the adjoining cities before the state law was passed and have had property at the higher elevations since 1987. I,too, have seen open carry only on the trails in the high country. I do it myself. INAL, just observant.
