Suspected Drunk Driver Shoots Person Calling them in
Re: Suspected Drunk Driver Shoots Person Calling them in
I would assume he couldn't carry on the job, but had maybe his wife or girlfriend's gun in the personal vehicle (MPA). Then again, maybe he just likes pink.

I don't know whether he was licensed to carry a weapon on the job or not. They just called him a security officer, which could be either way.
As for the pink pistol, I doubt anyone laughed after being shot with one. Fifteen rounds of .40 cal is some heavy metal to put downrange.

You know I actually thought about getting one so that if I was ever falsely accused of waving it around as happened to another poster a while back, I could simply say to the officer "Go ask the accuser what color my gun is"

You can get "manly" colors or finishes like red, blue, green, or camouflage. They cost more.

If I was the guy that got shot, I am not sure I would tell any of my buddies it was with a pink gun; even thoguh I lived I'm not sure I could live it down. LOL

I'm still confused...
If he was "following" the drunk, why was the drunk shooting at the back of his car?
Still confused...
Why did he have a pink gun? Have prices on black guns gone up that much?
Still confused...
How do you get a .40 in the back of the neck and live to tell about it - glad he did, but not sure how that happens?
Still confused...
How do you empty 15 rounds at a stationary target (more or less) and only hit the guy once? Again, glad he didn't do more damage...

News tonight showed the shooter explaining the situation. A little clearer, but still scratching head.

People have been holed through-and-through with multiple rounds of .50 BMG and lived to tell about it. The human body is a remarkably durable creation.Zen wrote:How do you get a .40 in the back of the neck and live to tell about it ...?

If you are accustomed to putting rounds through a ragged hole in a paper target at the range, great; but that is not the way it goes when the pucker-factor kicks in.
Also shooting through vehicle windows and other obstacles makes a real difference. There have been many documented police-involved shootings with hit ratios of a couple of percent.
