Lib Coverage of the Convention

Post by Dreamer42 »

In the aftermath of the NRA Convention it is interesting to see the fear and name calling the left uses in its "coverage" of the convention. Now I know we can all predict what the left will report, but it is important to also know what views the opposition has. This one from http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree ... you-missed" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; shows pefectly well the attitudes they have. Women interested in guns? Never! Kids hold AR15? The nerve! Why, there were even bras that were made to hold a GUN!!!!!
I particularly like number ten:

Guns galore. You probably assumed this. But did you have in mind a gold-plated handgun? Or a triple-barrel shotgun that can shoot multiple calibers? What about pink guns – for the ladies! They can put them in the bra that comes with a holster. Speaking of ladies: No convention of phallic symbol-fetishizers would be complete without gun porn.

Didn't see the tripple-barrel shotgun that shoots multiple calibers. Interesting. Gun porn? Really? I never looked at it that way. Hmmm. These people are truly screwed in the head. I'd be willing to bet that if you took any one of them to the range and taught proper and safe gun handling and marksmanship discipline that they'd have a ball, grinning from ear to ear. As I told someone else at the Convention, some of these Libs "Need to be kissed, and by someone who knows how," to borrow a quote from Rhet Butler. :patriot: :txflag:

Drilling guns have been around for a long time. Here is a quick primer on various combination gun configurations. Pretty cool stuff.

"Gun Porn" is a phrase that typically is used to cover something exotic and expensive that most of the average firearm owners will never own. Of course, typical for the political left to misuse even that in an attempt to vilify firearms owners.

I'm aware of combination guns. Many survival guns have a shotgun barrel on the bottom and a rifle caliber on top. I was just trying to point out that the media does not seem to have a grasp of researching to find out what the proper terminology is. The implication was that a shotgun can fire multiple calibers. Shotguns are measured in guage, not caliber. Now, if they were reporting about the Taurus Judge that fires a .410 or .45 colt, that is a different animal. But it was not called a revolver, but shotgun in the article. No mater what, the media just tries to demonize guns, and anyone who uses them.

I was there on Friday only.
I was disappointed that the only apparent minority members of the NRA appeared to be Asian (and very few at that). Though I could have easily missed them in the crowd, I failed to note a single Black or Hispanic attending. All I saw were old white folks with very few kids. Of course, all the youngin's could have been at work and couldn't afford to miss a day.
I would really hope that Saturday or Sunday was better. It amazes me that more minorities don't realize that membership in the NRA would be a positive thing for them.

Crowds on Sat/Sun were more balanced. But still heavily Caucasian, to no surprise.

Wow! I was there Friday with two Hispanic guys. I saw plenty of other Hispanics including more than a few young-uns.

Maybe my new prescription glasses contribute to 'color blindness'.

I am glad to hear that you saw them... it really bothered me to think that minorities are overlooking membership in the NRA.

It doesn't look anything like Obama. For one thing it looks kinda funny and there is nothing funny about Obama --he's downright scary.

Edited to add:

BTW, the key theme of the comments is that the libs don't want to "share the planet with us." Funny, how outraged they are about this silly target, and yet ride their high horses right into support for genocide. Inside every liberal is a murdering tyrant struggling to get free. They want us dead, and fortunately, now that they feel like they're on top, they're a lot less reticent to express their true desires, so we've been warned.

I was force-fed CNN coverage of the NRA convention while trapped in an airport lobby waiting for my flight, and then the whole time I was in Commiefornia, there were two leading stories: 1) the big brush fire between Calabasas and Camarillo; and 2) the NRA convention.

I have never in my life seen so much coverage of any NRA convention as this year's coverage. It was kind of crazy.
