When you buy a holster for gun that would like to buy in the future.
When you buy a ammo for gun that you do not have.
When you buy a firearm that you have no use for.
When you buy a firearm that you have no a space to safely store
When you buy a firearm that you would never shoot.

reading many of your posts in my short time on this forum gives me the impression of you that, if you ask a question like that, you are, more than likely, prepared for the answer...or it's just rhetorical...lol

...when you pick up brass for a caliber of gun you don't yet own because you might someday.

Guilty - 30-30 and I did buy one :smash:

Your wife suggest the beginning of a new policy where the purchase of a new gun is only followed by the sale of another...
The wife did this to me ten years ago. :grumble

Your wife gets you a second (or third) gun safe for your anniversary because she can no longer fit her carry weapon in the one you have.

That means she is a gun nut, not you.

when you take out a field mouse(head shot) from 43 feet with a 410 shotgun, while barefoot and standing still as a statue on the porch. bam! one and done then he did the fish fry wiggle as his little life escaped him in my yard

-- When you find a honey of a deal on a rare pistol...and your MOTHER absconds with it leaving a check on the kitchen table saying "cash it or not, that's up to you, but I'm keeping the Highway Patrolman" . . . and you really don't mind too much

-- When you finally have collected enough brass for a caliber you don't own to justify buying a gun to use all that brass

-- When you reload ammo for calibers you don't own

-- When your wife buys you a derringer for Christmas...and then starts carrying it herself

-- When you start buying loading components wholesale . . . for personal use

-- When you realize that the biggest brass tumbler on the market is no contest for your cement mixer

-- When a family trip to "the country" involves a 3/4 ton pickup to haul the ammo, and a nut-wizard to pick up the brass

-- When you borrow your mother's car, and realize that if you get stopped, you have a problem -- not the 3 guns on your person that you will have to disclose, but the at least TWO you know SHE keeps *SOMEWHERE* in that car

-- When you realize it's not just the windex bottle that calls for a finger-along-the-frame, but every gas pump, power tool, and walking cane...

-- When you realize that you're "finger-straight" on your off hand too!

-- When after nearly cutting a fingertip off with a table saw, you go to physical therapy and they ask you about your recovery goals, and you answer "more control, faster reaction time and better gripping strength."

-- When you turn down a great deal on another gun thinking "but I don't have the dies for that caliber..."

-- When your wife decides that between guns and dogs, leather isn't an option for the new sofa . .. and YOUR guns and dogs aren't any help either

I wish I could say at least SOME of these were hypothetical...but I'd hate to be branded a liar. Perhaps some of these mean not so much that *I* am a gun nut, but that I've infected everyone around me with it....

I am now collecting 22LR for a future .22 AR 15 build.
Its sad that in todays world you have to think about collecting ammo months before buying the gun.

Already there but I found a loop hole.
She didnt say anything about parts and accesorys. I just happen to buy enough parts to build a gun.
Since she took a girls trip to New York in June with my daughters and didnt invite me (oh darn) my build project kept me out of the bars at night.
