Is it just me or does it seem a little shortsighted and perhaps somewhat self-rightous that Texas does not capitalize on casino gambling?

A lot of good could be done in Texas, as it is in other states, from the tax revenue off of legalized casino gambling - not to mention the construction and other jobs that would be created. I seriously question that any new people would go to heck if Texas legalized gambling. Furthermore, I am firmly convinced that this is an economic question rather than a moral issue. It has been proven, time and time again down through the ages, that morality can not be legislated.
BTW, neither Mrs. Oldgringo nor I gamble except at election times
