9mm Brass

Post by Capt Roy »

I have a 5 gallon bucket full of mixed hs 9mm brass. Between 8500-9000 cases. All range pickup. I removed all the mil, wcc and S&B. It all looks real good.

140.00 for it all. That's less than 17.00 per thousand. Includes the bucket and lid.

Local pickup only, except I am traveling to San Antonio for Thanksgiving and I could deliver there.

If I were to start reloading, how do you determine the worth of a spent shell casing?

In this case, an empty is 2¢ or thereabouts. One doesn't reload to safe money. One reloads because.....

Well, I am in Alvin, close enough to pick it up. What did you do with the other brass? I have a Dillon 1050 that handles the military crimp stuff. PM Sent

Guess I didn't phrase that very well. When I used the word worth I meant not value but usability for reloading safely. My bad.

Visual check. Look for swells in the case body, cracks or splits around the mouth, dents too bad to straighten when you size it.
Everything that is once fired as this, good to go. THere will not be enough culls in that lot to even think about.

I will assure you this is a great deal. I pick up brass off my CHL range & sell it. No way would I sell for what this is. If I were close enough to pick it up I would already have it then resell it in lots of 1000, 2000, or 2500.

I cant believe it is not already gone.

Capt. Roy, good meeting you today and thanks. Enjoyed the talk. That is a heavy bucket of brass. Looks good too. I weighed it when I got home. 78+ lbs. That is a lot. Charles, you get the next one. thanks again.
